What is Biblical wisdom? It is knowing and doing the will of God as described in His Holy Word. How does one gain Biblical wisdom? While reading the Bible is not the only way to gain Biblical wisdom, it is the best and should always hold a prominent place in your spiritual growth and walk with the Lord. Remember that the Bible is God-breathed, meaning it was given, through holy men who spoke as they were moved by God’s Spirit to record all that led up to and after the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Biblical wisdom is the knowledge of how to live our life as God has ordained and designed it. In the beginning, God created the universe, all we can see, and all we can’t see to display His love and power and glory. Biblical wisdom says that all of creation declares God’s glory for all to see so that none are without excuse in their disbelief in God.
By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11: 3
What we can learn from Biblical Wisdom
Biblical wisdom teaches that Jesus is the Son of God and part of the Trinity or God-head, being on equal footing with God the Father, yet willfully subjected to His plan of salvation to pay, once for all, for sin and nail it to the cross. All who seek Him and choose Him will be saved from the coming wrath of God against the unrepentant sins of this world that is controlled by Satan for now.
Biblical wisdom is found in the parables that Jesus told, as homilies designed to reach some while obscuring the true meaning from those in opposition to His cause. Unfortunately, many in His time missed it, just as many in our time miss it. If you study God’s Word consistently, you will find the meaning of these to be clearer all the time.
Biblical wisdom knows that when Jesus ascended into Heaven, He released the Holy Spirit, the promised Comforter, to be a guide for all of His followers to lead them into all truth. It is this portion of the Trinity that goes with us wherever we go and leads us and speaks to us as we go through life, trying to live God’s way. The Holy Spirit also helps in ordinary ways, simply guiding us in all we do, no matter how insignificant, just to make our lives easier. Because God loves us and wants to care for us, He sent His Holy Spirit to be the source of all truth.
Biblical wisdom tells us that, no matter our hardships here in this life, we will be delivered in the next, becoming whole once again where there is no more sorrow and no more pain and where we shall live as God intended in the light of His glorious presence. Whatever we give up here for His sake – mothers, fathers, sisters, or brothers, possessions or fame or wealth – will be returned 100 fold in the life to come.
